Pao Assorted 12 Pack

I got a sample of Pao Jelly at the Moved Her Mind event for Asics. So I’ve only tried the Lychee flavor but wow! I am a fan! It tastes just like the lychee jellies we all know and love! The energy on my run, from the jelly, was even and sustained. I had no gastrointestinal issues. The texture is smooth like jello with a bit more bite to it. I didn’t need to take extra water after, like you do with other gels, and it didn’t stick around in my mouth. I literally don’t have a con and just ordered 2 boxes! I can’t wait to get them and use them in my upcoming training cycles.

I’m obsessed! They go down easy and are so refreshing. A great mid run energy boost. Also just love the brand. By runners and for runners! :)

Honestly the taste and texture is very consistent and easy to digest. It’s like having a flavorful dessert and snack that isn’t too heavy while providing the necessary nutrients and boost of energy needed for my run. Only feedback I have is the packaging for the each energy jelly. The cut to tear open the energy jelly is a little too high. Sometimes if you open the jelly while running, the angle ends up tearing too high and above the opening of the jelly. Then I need to use a scissor to cut open the jelly. Maybe need to redesign/ provide an extra cut on the opposite of the packaging.

Really love Pao! The flavors are delicious – They don’t feel sweet, just a gentle real fruit quality. I haven’t experienced any digestive discomfort. I appreciate the texture change that these gels offer and the flavors make Pao really stand out! I’d love to see some gels offered with sodium/electrolytes, but appreciate the ability to customize as well. Some of the gels were a little tricky to open, but I know the team is working on the tear off tabs/troubleshooting initial production (most were smooth)!

Pao gels are now in my regular rotation and will be joining me for the NYC Marathon! 🥳

These are the best gels I’ve tasted. Usually I regret devoting my free time to running when I have to scarf down a gel but these are actually delicious!

Absolutely love Pao! I have a very sensitive stomach, so I have to be extra mindful of what I fuel my workouts with. These are delicious, easy to digest, and the packaging is SOOOO CUTE! Slowly convincing my other friends to try these!

The packaging is amazing. This would really stand out on a retail shelf. I love the graphics on both the jelly pouches and the box itself. All the flavors were spot on. Surprisingly my favorite was the Yuzu even though I’m a sucker for anything Lychee.

I don’t run myself, I use these mainly during heavy leg days. I used to be a powerlifter and I can say these have really helped out during those longer sessions in the gym.

My only criticism would be on the box, the “about us” section. It doesn’t indicate that it was made by 3 people and is an Asian owned/run business. It’s not indicating that it’s from a small business, doesn’t explain the meaning behind Pao. I get that there isn’t a lot of space to explain everything on the side of the box. But when I read: born in Brooklyn, pao labs is a sports nutrition brand inspired by the nostalgic flavors and textures of our Asian American heritage.
It kind of makes it sound like some big faceless company decided to make an Asian inspired energy jelly. I buy from a ton of small businesses and specifically seek them out. For me spending a little more is fine if I’m contributing to a small owned and run business. So I guess I wish it was more clear that this wasn’t just made in some huge lab by a team at a large corporation. I guess if this ever does get big enough to get on retail shelves one day i would hope that it would be made more clear. Because I think that people would rather support a small business vs a corporate entity

Love the flavors and the gel consistency!

The flavors are delicious and so easy to go down on the runs. The only reason for the four stars is due to the consistency. It is quite thick and I have to stop the run and stand there to chew my dessert-like jelly. I think if they were able to make the packaging longer length wise and less width then the jelly would be like a jelly stick. It will be easier to eat during the run and not stop to chew it. Otherwise great flavors. My favorite was lychee oolong.

I love how its an actual jelly. I suppose if you want it smoother you could massage the package. It tastes so good too. They make me excited to go run so I can eat them.

I bought these after briefly running into the two founders at a running industry event. A few weeks later I was helping my husband plan nutrition and fueling for a 50k run with big elevation gains. Those types of runs aren't generally the best place to first try a product but we took the swing and loaded him with all three flavors in the first 0-23 miles. When I met him at mile 23 for resupply, he didn't want any other gels. He finished the last 10 miles of climbing with 3-4 pao gels. He said they were easy on his stomach and he noticed an instant kick. I'll absolutely be buying again!! Thank you Pao Labs!!
